Mighty Mighty Construction site
If you have a construction vehicle lover in your house or class, this book is for you! In this book, 10 mighty construction vehicles work to get the construction job done. We have read other books in the series, which are listed below, but this one is our favorite. Click here to check it out!
Others in the series:
Steam Train, Dream Train
This is one our favorite “Things that Go” bedtime books. It is from the same people who did the book series above. The book description states, “The dream train pulls into the station, and one by one the train cars are loaded: polar bears pack the reefer car with ice cream, elephants fill the tanker cars with paints, tortoises stock the auto rack with race cars, bouncy kangaroos stuff the hopper car with balls. Sweet and silly dreams are guaranteed for any budding train enthusiasts!” Click here to learn more.
If your little one likes trains at all, this is a must get. They also have a Steam Train, Dream Train book to teach colors that I also used. You can see it by clicking here.
Thomas the Tank Engine: The Complete Collection
This book contains the entire Thomas the Tank Engine series by the author Rev. W. Audrey. My kids and I read one story at a time. It’s 416 pages, so be sure your child really likes Thomas the Train before you buy. Click here to learn more or purchase.
Otis
We really like the entire Otis series, and this is the book that started it all. Here’s the description, “
Otis is a special tractor. He loves his farm and farmer. He particularly loves the little calf in the next stall, whom he purrs to sleep with his soft motor. The two become great friends, romping in the fields, leaping bales of hay, and playing ring-around-the-rosy by Mud Pond. But when the big yellow tractor comes to the farm and replaces Otis, he is cast away behind the barn. . . until the little calf gets stuck in Mud Pond. Then there is only one tractor—and it’s not big or yellow—who saves the day. It’s little Otis!
With gorgeous illustrations from the critically-acclaimed Loren Long, this charming and unforgettable story about everyone’s favorite little tractor is the perfect bedtime read-aloud!”

- Otis and the Tornado
- Otis and the Kittens
- Otis and the Puppy
- An Otis Christmas (my personal favorite)
If I Built a Car
This is my kids favorite rhyming book. Here is the description, “If I built a car, it’d be totally new! Here are a few of the things that I’d do. . . .” Jack has designed the ultimate fantasy car. Inspired by zeppelins and trains, Cadillacs and old planes, with brilliant colors and lots of shiny chrome, this far-out vision is ready to cruise! there’s a fireplace, a pool, and even a snack bar! After a tour of the ritzy interior, Robert the robot starts up the motor . . . and Jack and his dad set off on the wildest test drive ever!” This book is so well written, I don’t see how any kid couldn’t like it. Click here to learn more or purchase.
There are two similar books that go along in the series as well: If I Built a House and If I Built a School.
